Fix Steam's Invalid CAPTCHA Error

Complete Steam's CAPTCHA last, then submit the form immediately because the check can expire. If Steam still says the response is invalid, reopen the correct Steam page in an up-to-date browser, turn off a blocker only for that page, and try once on another trusted connection or device. Keep the reference ID if the error continues.
Note whether the error appears while creating an account, signing in, or recovering an account. Copy the reference ID shown under the message. It helps Steam identify the failed request.

Complete the CAPTCHA last
Fill in the other form fields first. Complete the CAPTCHA, wait for its check mark, and submit the Steam form immediately. Google says a CAPTCHA response can expire if too much time passes.
For a new account, use Steam's account-creation page. For an existing account that you cannot access, use Steam Support's recovery page. These links avoid copied or unofficial sign-in pages.
Close the failed tab, update the browser, and reopen the Steam page. If a privacy or content-blocking extension is stopping the CAPTCHA from loading, pause it only for the Steam page, retry once, and turn it back on afterward.

Try one other device or connection
Open the same official Steam page on a phone or another computer. If possible, compare Wi-Fi with mobile data. This tells you whether the failure is limited to the first browser or network.

Stop repeated attempts
If several attempts fail, wait before trying again. Repeating the same form quickly can create more failed requests and does not prove that the puzzle was solved incorrectly.

Use Steam Support with the reference ID
If the official page fails on more than one device or connection, return to Steam Support and choose the matching account-access problem. Include the reference ID, time, browser, and the pages already tested. Never send your password or Steam Guard code.
