How to Link EA Play with PC Game Pass or Steam
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
PC Game Pass includes EA Play through the EA app after you link the correct Xbox and EA accounts. Steam purchases use a separate Steam-to-EA link when an EA game first launches; Steam does not merge into the Xbox Game Pass entitlement.
Choose the correct linking path
Use Xbox-to-EA for PC Game Pass, or Steam-to-EA for an EA game bought on Steam. Do not try to link Xbox, Steam, and EA as one interchangeable entitlement.
Install the official apps
Install the Xbox app and EA app for the Game Pass path, or Steam and the EA app for the Steam path. Sign out of extra accounts before linking so the wrong identity is not selected.
Start from the Xbox app
For PC Game Pass, choose an EA Play game in the Xbox app and select Install. Follow the prompt into the EA app and sign into the EA account you intend to keep linked.
Start from the Steam game
For a Steam purchase, install and launch the EA game from Steam. When the EA app opens, sign into the intended EA account and approve the Steam link shown by the official flow.
Verify the displayed accounts
Read the Xbox gamertag, Steam profile, and EA ID before approving. Stop if any identity is unfamiliar; unlinking later can affect entitlements, progress, or a platform-specific cooldown.
Confirm the library
Return to the launcher where the entitlement began and confirm the game shows Install or Play. Restart both launchers if the correct link exists but the library has not refreshed.

If it does not work
- If an account is already linked elsewhere, use EA's authenticated account support rather than repeatedly unlinking platforms.
- Owning a game on one platform does not automatically create a license on another; confirm which launcher supplied the purchase or subscription.
