Your VALORANT name is your Riot ID, which is shared across Riot games. Change it only from the Riot account page while signed in to the correct account. Riot says a free change is normally available again after 90 days, and some region-style taglines cannot be selected again.
Before changing anything, confirm the account currently signed in to VALORANT. A Riot ID applies across Riot games, so changing the wrong account changes the wrong game identity.

Open your Riot account page
Open Riot's account page from the current Riot ID support article and sign in. Do not use a link from a player offering a name change.
Find the Riot ID name and tagline fields in the account page. Read the existing name and tagline before replacing them.

Choose an allowed Riot ID
Enter a name and tagline that meet Riot's listed length and character rules. Do not use offensive or impersonating wording, which can be changed by Riot.

Avoid a retired region tagline
Choose a new tagline rather than an old server-style code. Riot says former region codes such as NA1 or EUW cannot be reused after a change.

Save the change
Use the account page's save control and wait for confirmation. Do not repeat the request if the page reports that the change window is unavailable.

Check VALORANT after the change
Open VALORANT and confirm that the Riot ID displays as expected. If it does not, use Riot Support with the account page confirmation rather than trying a second change.
