Network lag is when other players warp or actions arrive late while Roblox itself remains responsive. Test a second experience, pause downloads and streams, strengthen or compare the connection, and use Ethernet or stable Wi-Fi where possible. If your own movement is choppy instead, lower Graphics Quality; that is graphics lag, not high ping.
Join a familiar experience and observe the failure. Other players warping, actions arriving late, or delayed interactions point to network lag. Choppy local camera or movement points to graphics lag; close heavy apps or lower Graphics Quality for that different problem.
2
Compare another experience
Join a second known-working experience or server. If only one destination lags, its server load, region, or creator design may be responsible; report the experience and time to its creator instead of changing the device.
3
Pause competing network traffic
Stop downloads, cloud backups, streams, and large updates on your device and, where practical, the same household connection. Return to the original experience and repeat the same action.
4
Strengthen the connection
On a computer, compare Ethernet with Wi-Fi. On mobile, move closer to trusted Wi-Fi; Roblox recommends Wi-Fi instead of 3G or 4G when possible. Do not treat one speed-test number as proof that a live game path is healthy.
5
Compare one trusted network
If lag affects every experience, test once on another trusted connection. Restore any manually customized DNS, proxy, or VPN path to its ordinary state for the comparison. On a managed network, ask the administrator rather than bypassing controls.
6
Retest the same destinations
Repeat the same action in the original and comparison experiences. Success means actions arrive normally and players no longer warp during a sustained session. If only the original network fails, contact its administrator or provider with the comparison result.
7
Escalate with measured evidence
If multiple experiences lag on multiple trusted networks while other online services remain stable, record the device, OS, time, experiences, network types, and visible ping or packet-loss values for Roblox Support.
If it does not work
If your own camera and movement are choppy in a solo experience, lower Graphics Quality and close resource-heavy apps; that is graphics or system lag, not a network repair.
If only one experience or server lags, give its creator the time and server behavior. A DNS change or reinstall cannot fix an overloaded experience server.
If every internet service is slow on the same connection, stabilize that wider connection before troubleshooting Roblox.

Roblox distinguishes network lag from graphics and system lag. Connection guidance supports a stable wired or Wi-Fi path and evidence-based escalation, not a universal ping threshold.
