Deactivate or Delete a Snapchat Account

At accounts.snapchat.com, choose Delete my account, enter your password, and tap Continue. It is deactivated for 30 days before deletion.
Download data first if needed
Before starting deletion, sign in at accounts.snapchat.com, open My Data, choose the data and date range, then submit the request. Snapchat sends an email when the export is ready, so allow time before deleting the account.
Open the official accounts portal
Go directly to the Snapchat accounts portal and sign in to the account you intend to remove. Do not enter the password into a third-party deletion service or a link sent by an unknown person.
Choose account deletion
Select Delete my account in the accounts portal. In the iOS app, the route starts with Profile > Settings > Account Actions > Delete Account, then continues in the same portal.
Enter the password
Enter the current Snapchat password only in the official portal. If you cannot sign in, use Snapchat's password-reset route instead of creating a new account or sharing login details with a helper.
Confirm the deactivation
Select Continue to confirm the deactivation and deletion request. Snapchat says the account is first deactivated for 30 days, so the change is not immediately permanent.
Avoid reactivating by mistake
Do not sign in to the account during the 30-day deactivation period unless you want to reactivate it. Snapchat says that after the waiting period, it begins permanent deletion; some information can still be retained for legal, security, and business needs.

- If you change your mind within 30 days, log in to Snapchat with the account username to reactivate it. If you are in India, Snapchat documents a different permanent-deletion timing, so read the country-specific notice before assuming the normal timeline.
- If you cannot access the accounts portal because the password is forgotten, reset the password through Snapchat first; do not keep retrying deletion with an unverified email or phone number.
