In Snapchat, swipe up from the Camera screen to open Memories, find a photo or video in Camera Roll, press and hold it, then choose how to share it. Snapchat may label Camera Roll media differently from a newly captured Snap.
Open the official Snapchat app and start on the Camera screen. Confirm that Snapchat has permission to access the photos or videos you intend to share.

Open Memories
Swipe up from the Camera screen to open Memories. This is where Snapchat lets you find previously saved content and media from your device's Camera Roll.

Find the Camera Roll item
Open the Home or Camera Roll tab and locate the photo or video you want to share. Check the content and its visible details before sending it to another person or a public Story.

Press and hold the item
Press and hold the selected photo or video to open its available actions. Use the share action shown by your current version of Snapchat rather than a third-party upload tool.

Choose the recipient or destination
Select the friend, group, Chat, or Story destination carefully, then confirm the audience. A private Chat and a Story have different visibility, even when you use the same Camera Roll item.

Review the sent item
Check the conversation or Story after it sends to make sure the correct media and audience were used. Remove or report a mistake through Snapchat's own controls where those controls are available.

If it does not work
If Camera Roll is empty, review Snapchat's photo permission in your device settings, then return to Memories. Do not grant access to a third-party app just to move a photo into Snapchat.
If you only want to send the media in Chat, Snapchat documents a photos icon in Chat for sending Memories or Camera Roll photos. Use that route rather than posting the item to a Story by mistake.
If a recipient cannot view the item, check the audience and privacy setting you selected. Do not resend sensitive media until you know the first send went to the right place.
