Reset a Discord Password When Sign-In Fails

Rule out a simple sign-in mismatch
Confirm Caps Lock and the keyboard layout, then enter the email address associated with the Discord account. A display name or username may not be the same as the account email. Use the official Discord app or discord.com and stop after repeated failures rather than testing many password guesses that can create more security alerts.
Request Discord's reset email
On the login screen, enter the account email and choose Forgot your password? Discord sends instructions to that mailbox. Request once, then check inbox, spam, and filtered folders. Never share the reset link, authentication code, or backup code; Discord support and legitimate moderators do not need those secrets to help you.
Verify the message before opening it
Check that the message relates to the reset you just requested and leads to Discord's official domain. If no email arrives, search all addresses you control for earlier Discord mail to identify the account email. Do not create a new account with the same display name and assume it will recover the original account.
Set a new unique password
Open the valid reset link, choose a password not used on another site, and complete the change. A password manager can generate and store it. Return to Discord and sign in from a trusted device instead of continuing through an unexpected pop-up or message attachment.
Complete two-factor authentication separately
If Discord accepts the new password but asks for a two-factor code, use the authenticator or a saved backup code. A password reset does not remove two-factor authentication. Do not pay for a bypass or give remote access to someone claiming they can remove it.
Troubleshoot continued invalid-login errors
If the reset email is missing, the address may be wrong or the account may have changed. If a verified reset succeeds but login still fails, record the exact message, device, and whether browser and app behave differently, then contact Discord Support. Secure the email account first if an unauthorized address or password change is suspected.
