Change Your Xbox Gamertag Online

Go to Xbox’s Change gamertag page and sign in with the Microsoft account connected to your Xbox profile. Enter the new gamertag, check availability, review the preview, and confirm the change.
Open the Xbox page
Open social.xbox.com/changegamertag and sign in with the Microsoft account connected to the Xbox profile you want to change.
Enter a new gamertag
Type the gamertag you want, then select Check availability.
Review the preview
Check how the gamertag will appear before continuing. Choose another name if it is unavailable or the preview is not what you expected.
Confirm the change
Follow the confirmation shown by Xbox to apply the available gamertag to the signed-in profile.
