Check Activision Online Services first. If Warzone and Steam are online, fully exit both apps, reopen Steam, verify Call of Duty through Properties > Installed Files, then retry matchmaking. If another Steam game also disconnects, troubleshoot Steam or the network instead of reinstalling Warzone.
Open Activision Online Services, select Call of Duty: Warzone and Steam, and note the current result. If an incident is listed, wait and retry after it clears rather than changing the PC.
Open one other online Steam game or service you already use. If it also disconnects, stop Warzone changes and use Steam or network support; if only Warzone fails, continue below.
3
Restart Steam cleanly
Close Call of Duty, choose Steam > Exit, and wait for Steam to close before reopening it. Sign back into the same Steam account and confirm the client remains online.
4
Verify the Call of Duty files
In Steam Library, right-click Call of Duty and select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Let verification and any download finish before launching Warzone.
If a VPN or proxy is already active, disconnect it for this one comparison and leave other network settings unchanged. Do not install a VPN, change DNS, or reset the router for this test.
6
Test sign-in and matchmaking
Launch Call of Duty from Steam, select Warzone, sign in, and complete one matchmaking attempt in the mode that failed. The repair worked when Steam stays online and Warzone enters the match without the disconnect message.
7
Report the remaining scope
If only Warzone still disconnects, send Activision Support the exact message, time, region, connection type, Steam verification result, and the comparison from Step 2. If Steam disconnects outside Warzone, send the same time and comparison to Steam or your network provider.
If it does not work
If the message appears only during matchmaking, include the selected region and mode; a successful sign-in does not reproduce the same failure point.
If Steam goes Offline or loses connection across games, do not keep reinstalling Warzone. Restore the Steam or network connection first.
If a work, school, hotel, or shared network is involved, give the administrator the time and service comparison instead of changing router or firewall settings.
