Fix Warzone FPS Drops and Hitching From Texture Streaming
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
Activision's current Warzone known-issues page identifies a PS5 hitching issue and says some players improved performance by adjusting On-Demand Texture Streaming and Allocated Texture Cache Size. This is a targeted test, not a universal FPS or PC optimization promise.
Confirm the affected platform
Use this procedure only when the hitching happens on PlayStation 5. Activision's current tracked issue is platform-specific, so do not apply it as a promised fix for every PC or console frame-rate drop.
Check the current issue list
Open Activision's current Warzone Known Issues page and confirm that the game hitching item is still listed. The list changes as fixes are deployed.
Open Warzone Settings
From Warzone, open Settings and select Graphics. Select the Quality tab before looking for the texture-streaming controls.
Find texture streaming
Locate On-Demand Texture Streaming in the Details & Textures area. Record its existing value so you can restore it if the targeted test does not help.
Adjust one listed control
Change only On-Demand Texture Streaming or Allocated Texture Cache Size under Show More, then apply the change. Do not change several display settings in the same test.
Test one comparable match
Play one comparable match and look for the same hitching condition. Record whether the issue improved, stayed the same, or became worse.
Report a persistent issue
If the issue remains and is not listed as resolved, use Activision's current bug-report or support route with the platform, setting tested, and match time.

If it does not work
- Restore the original texture-streaming value if the comparison does not help. The current notice says some players improved performance, not that every PS5 will.
- For a different platform or a crash rather than hitching, do not relabel this PS5 issue as the cause; use the matching current Warzone support topic.
