Minecraft Pocket Edition is an older name. For current mobile Minecraft, use the official Minecraft download page and the device's own app store. Sign in with the account that owns Minecraft after installation; do not download a mobile APK or an unofficial copy.
1
Check the device type
Confirm whether you are using an iPhone or iPad, or an Android device. The current Minecraft download page lists iOS and Android as separate mobile platforms.
2
Open Minecraft's official download page
Open the Minecraft download page and choose the link for your device type. Do not use a search advertisement or a third-party APK site.
Continue to the App Store on iPhone or iPad, or Google Play on Android. Review the publisher and price in the store before starting the download.
4
Install the official app
Install Minecraft through that store and wait for the device to finish. Do not sideload a modified app to obtain an older Pocket Edition build.
5
Open Minecraft once
Launch Minecraft after the install completes and let it finish any first-start download before changing account or world settings.
6
Sign in with the right account
Sign in with the Microsoft or platform account that owns the game when Minecraft requests it. Keep account credentials private and do not use another person's store account without permission.
7
Check the edition and version
Read the version shown on the title screen before joining a friend. Bedrock multiplayer requires compatible current game versions.

If it does not work
If the store says the device is not compatible, do not install an old APK. Check the official device requirements or use a supported device.
If the purchase does not appear, first confirm that you are using the same store account that bought Minecraft before contacting the relevant store support.
