How to Change a Roblox Experience Name, Icon, and Description

Open Creator Dashboard > Creations, select the experience, then go to Configure > Places and open the starred start place. Use Basic Settings for its name and description, and Icon for the square image. Save each page and wait for icon moderation; the change is complete when the public landing page shows the new details.

Open Basic Settings, change the name and description, and select Save Changes. Describe what the player actually does. Do not use the Roblox name or a similar name in the title of a new experience; Roblox restricts that branding for experiences created after June 22, 2022.

Prepare the square icon
Export an original square image at 512 by 512 pixels or larger. Check it at a small size so the main subject remains recognizable, and do not place the Roblox logo in the artwork.

Upload the new icon
Open Icon in the start place's left navigation, set the media type to Image, select Edit, choose the square file, and confirm it. When the preview shows the intended image, select Save Changes.

Wait for Roblox moderation
The saved name, description, or icon may not appear publicly at the same moment. Reopen the place's configuration and read the icon status. Roblox must approve the image before other players see it.

Verify the public landing page
Copy the experience URL from Creator Dashboard and open it in a signed-out window or a non-owner account. Confirm that the new name, full description, and approved icon appear together. That public page, not the dashboard preview, is the success check.

Publish gameplay changes separately
Changing Basic Settings or Icon does not upload scripts, maps, or other Studio edits. If the experience itself also changed, open the correct project in Roblox Studio and use File > Publish to Roblox after the metadata is saved.
If it does not work
If Icon is missing, return to Configure > Places and make sure you opened the place marked with a star rather than another place in the same experience.
If the icon stays in moderation, do not repeatedly upload duplicates. Wait for the status, then replace it only when Roblox gives a moderation reason.
If the dashboard shows the new details but the public page does not, confirm the experience URL and owner; similarly named user-owned and group-owned experiences are separate.
If the name is rejected, remove restricted Roblox branding or other filtered text and save a factual title that matches the experience.
