How to Fix Honkai: Star Rail Login Error 1001_1
Source-checked · About 10 minutes
Answer
Error 1001_1 is a Star Rail login connection failure. First switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then disable any VPN, proxy, or network-filtering app and set DNS back to Automatic. Restart the device and router only after those quick tests. Success means the same account passes the login screen and loads its original server and character.
Open Honkai: Star Rail and take a screenshot of the full 1001_1 message. Note the selected server and whether the error appears before your character loads. Do not create another account: this test concerns the connection to the login service, not missing game progress.
2
Try the other network once
On iPhone or Android, turn Wi-Fi off and try the same login with mobile data. On a PC or PlayStation, connect briefly to a trusted phone hotspot if your data plan allows it. If the original server and character load on the second network, the game installation and account are working; the first network is the problem.
3
Remove VPN or proxy interference
Disconnect any VPN, proxy, custom traffic filter, or third-party network app, then close and reopen Star Rail. HoYoverse lists these tools as a cause of the 1001-family login failure. Leave them off for the verification attempt rather than switching between several VPN locations.
4
Set DNS back to Automatic
On Windows, open Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi or Ethernet > DNS server assignment > Edit, choose Automatic (DHCP), and save. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings > Wi-Fi > the connected network > Configure DNS > Automatic. On Android, open Settings > Network & internet > Private DNS and choose Automatic. Then retry the same Star Rail server.
5
Restart the device and router
Close Star Rail, restart the phone, PC, or PlayStation, then restart the router using its normal power control. Wait until the internet connection is fully back before opening the game. This gives the login attempt a fresh local and router connection after DNS and proxy settings are corrected.
6
Verify the original account loads
Sign in with the same HoYoverse login method and select the original server. Success means the 1001_1 dialog is gone and the game loads your existing character and UID. If only the second network works, keep the game unchanged and contact the provider of the failing network.
If it does not work
If 1001_1 appears on Wi-Fi but mobile data works, do not reinstall Star Rail. Give the Wi-Fi provider the time of the failure and explain that HoYoverse login works through another network.
If it fails on every network, send HoYoverse the screenshot, server, platform, country or region, network provider, and whether you tested Wi-Fi and mobile data.
If the error disappears but a new UID or opening sequence appears, return to the login screen and use the original email, Google, Apple, Game Center, PlayStation, or other linked method. A successful connection does not merge different HoYoverse accounts.
If the game cannot reach the login screen at all, use the stuck-loading or not-launching guide instead; 1001_1 troubleshooting begins only when the code is actually displayed.

HoYoverse's current article names error 1001 as a network-login issue. The route retains the historical 1001_1 wording while using the current supported 1001-family procedure.
