Fix GTA V Epic Games Error LS-0013

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

For GTA V error LS-0013, open Epic Games Launcher > Library, select the three dots beside Grand Theft Auto V, choose Manage > Verify, and wait for verification to finish. If LS-0013 remains, exit Epic completely and delete only its webcache folders before launching GTA V from the Epic Library again. Do not use this page for a different error shown inside Rockstar Games Launcher.

Guide steps5 steps
  1. Confirm that Epic shows LS-0013
  2. Verify GTA V in Epic Games Launcher
  3. Clear only Epic's Launcher cache
  4. Remove old GTA V launch options
  5. Launch GTA V from Epic twice
  6. If it still does not work

Confirm that Epic shows LS-0013

Open Epic Games Launcher > Library and select Launch for Grand Theft Auto V. Continue only if Epic displays LS-0013. If Rockstar Games Launcher opens and shows "Unable to launch game. Please verify your game data" or another code, use the tutorial for that exact message instead.

Verify GTA V in Epic Games Launcher

In Epic Games Launcher, open Library, select the three dots beside Grand Theft Auto V, and choose Manage > Verify. Leave Epic open until verification finishes and any replacement download completes. Then select Launch once.

Clear only Epic's Launcher cache

If LS-0013 returns, select the upward arrow in the Windows taskbar, right-click Epic Games Launcher, and choose Exit. Press Windows + R, enter %localappdata%, and open EpicGamesLauncher > Saved. Delete webcache, webcache_4147, and webcache_4430 only when those folders exist. Do not empty the Windows Temp folder or delete the Saved folder itself.

Remove old GTA V launch options

Reopen Epic Games Launcher, go to Library, select the three dots beside Grand Theft Auto V, and choose Manage. Under Launch Options, turn the option off and leave its text box empty. Rockstar specifically requires a blank Epic launch-options field for a normal GTA V and BattlEye launch.

Launch GTA V from Epic twice

Select Launch from GTA V's Epic Library page rather than a desktop shortcut, batch file, or Command Prompt. Wait for Rockstar Games Launcher and the GTA V title screen. Close the game normally and repeat the same launch; LS-0013 is resolved when both attempts reach the title screen without the Epic error.

If it does not work

  • If Verify begins a download, wait for that download to finish before testing GTA V; selecting Launch during repair does not confirm the result.
  • If LS-0013 still appears, right-click Epic Games Launcher and Rockstar Games Launcher and use Run as administrator for one test only, as Epic recommends for games that use a second launcher. Return to normal launching afterward instead of enabling a permanent compatibility flag.
  • If Epic no longer shows LS-0013 but Rockstar Games Launcher displays a different message, record that exact message and follow its Rockstar-specific path rather than repeating the cache deletion.
