How to Link or Unlink a Genshin Impact Account

Open Genshin Impact > Paimon Menu > Settings > Account > User Center while signed into the profile that holds your progress. Link an email and password before removing a social or console login. A linked email cannot be removed, only changed, and signing in again with an unlinked social account creates a new game profile instead of reopening the old one.
Open Genshin Impact on the device where your characters and inventory are correct. At the login screen and in the Paimon Menu, note the server and UID. Keep this session open until you have confirmed another login method, because two existing HoYoverse profiles cannot be merged by linking them.

Open the User Center from that profile
Choose Paimon Menu > Settings > Account > User Center. You can also sign in at the official HoYoverse Account Center, but use the same account shown inside the game. Check the masked email and linked services before changing anything.

Link an email before removing another login
In User Center, open Personal Information and choose Link next to Email. Enter an email that is not already attached to another HoYoverse Account, set a password when prompted, and enter the verification code. A linked email becomes the recovery login and cannot later be removed; it can only be changed to another email.

Link the social account on the supported device
For Facebook or X, open Linked Accounts in the Account Center or User Center and choose Link. For Google, use User Center inside the Android game. For Apple or Game Center, use User Center inside the iPhone or iPad game. Complete the service's sign-in prompt, then return to User Center and confirm it shows as linked.

Unlink a social account only after the backup login works
First sign out on another device and prove that the linked email and password open the correct server, UID, characters, and inventory. Then return to Linked Accounts or the mobile User Center, select Unlink beside the social account, and complete verification. Do not sign in with that unlinked social button again expecting the old progress; HoYoverse says it creates a new game account.

Use the console-specific unlink control
For PlayStation or Xbox, sign into the HoYoverse Account Center with the email attached to the console profile and open Linked Accounts. Select Unlink beside the console account only if the displayed HoYoverse profile is the one you intend to detach. HoYoverse allows only one self-service unlink for a PlayStation account, and publishes a similar one-time limit for Microsoft accounts.

Verify the remaining login before you finish
Close Genshin Impact, reopen it, and sign in with the email or linked service you kept. Choose the original server and confirm the same UID, characters, inventory, and quest progress appear. That matching UID is the success check; a new opening scene or different UID means you used a different login method or server.
If it does not work
If the email says it is already registered, do not continue: that address belongs to another HoYoverse Account and linking will not merge its progress with the current profile.
If Google, Apple, or Game Center has no Unlink button, open User Center on the matching Android or iOS device. Those services are not managed from every platform.
If the console opened a new UID, link an email to that new profile from Settings > Account > User Center, sign into Account Center with it, unlink the console account, then choose Login with existing account on the console. Observe the one-time unlink limit.
If you no longer control the linked email, stop changing links and use HoYoverse's Account Issues Application Form. Repeated verification requests do not replace ownership recovery.
