How to Link a Genshin Impact Account on Mobile

Source-checked About 5 minutes

On the phone or tablet that already shows your Genshin Impact progress, open the Paimon Menu > Settings > Account > User Center and link an email address. Set a password, then sign in on the other device with that same HoYoverse email and choose the same server. A Google login and an email login are separate unless you linked them in User Center.

Guide steps6 steps
  1. Start on the device with your existing character
  2. Open the HoYoverse User Center
  3. Link an email and set a password
  4. Add a mobile sign-in option only if you need it
  5. Sign in on the second device
  6. Confirm that the same progress loaded
  7. If it still does not work

Start on the device with your existing character

Open Genshin Impact on the phone, tablet, PC, or console where your character, inventory, and quests are correct. On the title screen, note the selected server. After entering the game, open the Paimon Menu and copy the UID shown below your profile; these two details identify the progress you want to keep.

Open the HoYoverse User Center

In Genshin Impact, open the Paimon Menu > Settings > Account > User Center. Check that the User Center belongs to the UID you recorded. Do not continue from a new Level 1 character or from an account whose UID is different.

Link an email and set a password

In User Center, select Link beside Email, enter an address you can access, complete the emailed verification code, and set a HoYoverse password. If an email is already shown, it is already linked; use that email or change it through HoYoverse Account Center. HoYoverse does not let you simply remove a linked email.

Add a mobile sign-in option only if you need it

For Apple, Game Center, or Google, stay in User Center and open Linked Accounts. On iPhone and iPad, Apple and Game Center are available but Google login is not. On Android, Google login is available but Apple and Game Center are not. Linking an email is the simplest method that works on both mobile platforms and PC.

Sign in on the second device

Install and open Genshin Impact on the other device. Choose Log In with email, not the Google or Apple button, and enter the linked HoYoverse email and password. Select the same server you recorded in step 1, then enter the game.

Confirm that the same progress loaded

Open the Paimon Menu and compare the UID with the one from the original device. Success means the UID, character level, quests, inventory, and currency match. Cross-save synchronizes this account automatically; there is no separate upload button.

If it does not work

  • If the game starts with the opening cutscene or a new character, stop. Return to the title screen and check both the server and login method. Choosing Google with the same Gmail address is not the same as choosing email unless those methods were linked in User Center.
  • If you can still use the old device but cannot sign in elsewhere with Google or Apple, open Settings > Account > User Center on the old device and link an email. Then use the email and password on the new device.
  • If User Center already shows an unfamiliar email, do not overwrite or unlink accounts at random. Record the UID and submit the HoYoverse Account Issues form from the Help Center.
  • Two existing HoYoverse accounts cannot be merged by this workflow, and choosing another server creates separate progress rather than moving the original character.

This guide is for carrying existing Genshin Impact progress to another device. It does not merge two HoYoverse accounts or transfer a character between servers.
