If Steam shows an Easy Anti-Cheat message or Elden Ring reaches a white screen, use the matching specific guide instead of continuing with unrelated display tweaks.
Restart Windows, open Steam, and select Play from Elden Ring's Library page. If the button changes to Stop and then returns to Play without a game window, continue to file verification.

Verify Elden Ring's files
Right-click ELDEN RING and open Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Wait for Steam to finish and reacquire any missing files.

Restore a clean launch
Clear custom text in Properties > General > Launch Options, disable Elden Ring mods and ReShade, and close overlays or hardware-monitoring tools. Launch from Steam, not directly from eldenring.exe.

Follow the visible startup result
Use the Easy Anti-Cheat guide if an EAC error appears, or the white-screen guide if a blank white window opens and closes. If neither appears, continue with the Windows and hardware checks below.

Check updates and requirements
Finish Elden Ring and Windows updates, then install the current graphics driver from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel. Confirm the PC supports 64-bit Windows 10, DirectX 12, 12 GB RAM, and at least a GTX 1060 3 GB or RX 580 4 GB.

Confirm two successful starts
Launch Elden Ring from Steam twice. The problem is resolved when both attempts pass Easy Anti-Cheat and the publisher logos and remain at the title screen.
If it does not work
If Steam itself will not open or launch any installed game, use Steam's client troubleshooting; Elden Ring file verification cannot repair the Steam client.
If the PC is below Elden Ring's DirectX 12 or minimum hardware requirement, compatibility mode and forced fullscreen options do not make it supported.
If Elden Ring reaches the title screen but crashes after loading a save, the launch repair succeeded. Continue with the Elden Ring crash and freeze guide instead.
