Fix a Stuck or Slow Wuthering Waves Download on PC

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

Before restarting the download, compare the launcher's percentage with Task Manager's Network and Disk activity. If disk activity continues, the launcher may be unpacking files rather than downloading. Confirm at least 150 GB is available, check Kuro Games notices, restart only the launcher, pause other downloads, and compare Ethernet or another trusted network. Keep partial files unless Kuro Games tells you to remove them.

Check whether data is still moving

Write down the percentage and displayed speed. Open Task Manager > Performance and look at both Network and Disk for a few minutes. Network activity means files are downloading; disk activity with little network use can mean the launcher is unpacking or checking them.

Check free storage

Make sure the installation drive has enough room for the game and update files. Steam currently lists 150 GB of available storage for Wuthering Waves; an update may need additional temporary space.

Check official notices

Open the official Wuthering Waves site and look for maintenance, launcher, or update notices. If Kuro Games reports a download problem, wait rather than deleting partial files.

Restart only the launcher

Exit the Wuthering Waves launcher from the system tray, reopen it, and allow the existing download to resume. Do not delete the partial installation just because the displayed speed briefly reaches zero.

Pause competing downloads

Pause game updates, cloud backups, video streams, and other large transfers you recognize. Keep security software enabled, then watch the Wuthering Waves speed for several minutes.

Compare a stable connection

Use Ethernet if available, move closer to the Wi-Fi router, or compare one trusted mobile hotspot. Change only the connection and keep the same account and launcher so the result is meaningful.

Restart the router once

If every device on the home network is unusually slow, restart the router once and wait for it to reconnect. Skip this on a school, company, hotel, or other managed network.

Send the measured result

If the percentage still does not move and both Network and Disk remain idle, contact Kuro Games using the address on the official site. Include the launcher, region, percentage, free space, displayed speed, Task Manager result, and networks tested.

Legacy sponsored link (not part of this fix)

A VPN is not required for the download checks above and can make the comparison less clear. These sponsor links are kept separately from the repair instructions; Tech How may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Video walkthrough

If it does not work

  • If the percentage resets but the installation folder remains large, do not delete it until Kuro Games confirms whether the launcher can reuse those files.
  • If another trusted network is faster, return to the normal network and check its router or internet service; reinstalling the game will not increase that connection's speed.
