How to Fix VALORANT Error Code VAL 43

Answer

VAL 43 means a Riot system timed out. Close VALORANT and restart Riot Client completely, then sign in and launch the game again. Current Riot guidance does not require compatibility settings, Vanguard service changes, or a reinstall for this code; use those only if Riot shows a different error that calls for them.

Confirm the code is VAL 43

Read the error screen before closing it. Continue only when the code is VAL 43, which Riot describes as a system timeout.

Close Riot Client completely

Close VALORANT to discard the timed-out session, then exit Riot Client. If its icon remains in the Windows notification area, right-click the icon and choose Exit.

End a stuck client

If the Riot icon does not disappear, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, select Riot Client in Task Manager, and choose End task. End only Riot Client so the next launch creates a fresh login session.

Open Riot Client again

Open Start, type Riot Client, launch it, and sign in if asked. Start VALORANT and confirm the home screen opens without VAL 43.

Check for a Riot incident

If VAL 43 returns immediately, open Riot Games Service Status and choose VALORANT and your region. Wait when an active notice covers login or platform services; otherwise submit the code and time to Riot Support.

If it does not work

If Riot Client will not close normally, use Task Manager once; repeatedly ending Vanguard or Windows services is not part of the VAL 43 fix.
If the next launch shows another code, use that code's instructions instead of continuing VAL 43 troubleshooting.
If Riot reports no incident and VAL 43 persists after a complete client restart, include a screenshot and the time of failure in a support ticket.
