Enable Console Commands in Valheim

On Steam, add `-console` to Valheim's Launch Options, launch the game from Steam, and press F5. On Xbox, use LB + LT + Start. Most developer commands require `devcommands`; use them only in a local world or one you administer, and back up the world first. The old SkToolBox mod is not required.

Enable developer commands
Type `devcommands` and press Enter. Read the warning. Some basic or server-admin commands do not require developer mode.

List current commands
Type `help` to see the commands in the installed version. Use a harmless information command before anything that changes the world.

Use server admin commands correctly
Kick, ban, and other server commands work only with authorized server access. Developer commands are generally for local play, not a remote server you do not own.

Disable the console when finished
Remove `-console` from Launch Options if you no longer need it, relaunch normally, and verify the world loads correctly.
If it does not work
If F5 changes brightness or media controls, hold the keyboard's Fn key or change its function-key mode.
If you used a command by mistake, exit without saving only if the game has not already saved; otherwise restore the backup.
Remove outdated console mods before troubleshooting the built-in console because they can conflict after game updates.
