Fix V Rising Crashes, Freezes, or Startup Problems

Answer
Match the fix to where V Rising fails. Before the main menu, back up and reset the game's Settings folders. During the intro video, add the Steam launch option -noVideo. For crashes during play, verify the Steam files, update the graphics driver, remove mods, close overlays, and lower graphics settings before collecting logs for Stunlock Support.

During intro videoUse the Steam launch option -noVideo.
During gameplayVerify files, update the driver, remove mods, and close overlays.
Note whether V Rising stops before the main menu, during the opening video, or later during gameplay. Use only the matching first fix below so you can tell what changed the result.
2
Reset settings for a pre-menu crash
Close V Rising. Press Windows key + R, enter %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Settings, and press Enter. Back up the folder, then remove the versioned settings folders such as v1, v2, v3, or v4. This resets graphics, sound, input, and custom settings when the game recreates them.
3
Skip the intro video if it triggers the crash
In Steam Library, right-click V Rising, choose Properties, and enter -noVideo in Launch Options. Start the game. If it reaches the menu, the option is bypassing the opening video rather than repairing every possible crash.
4
Verify the Steam files
In Steam Library, right-click V Rising and choose Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Wait for Steam to finish and download any replacement files before testing again.
5
Remove conflicts and reduce load
Install the current graphics driver, restart Windows, remove game mods for the test, and close overlays and unnecessary background apps. If the crash happens during play, lower graphics settings and test the same scene again.
6
Check requirements and collect evidence
Compare the PC with V Rising's current requirements. If it is supported and still crashes, keep the exact failure point, PC specifications, driver version, and the game's logs or crash files for Stunlock Support.
If resetting the Settings folders fixes startup, reapply custom graphics and controls gradually; one old setting may have caused the failure.
If -noVideo reaches the menu but gameplay later crashes, keep that option and continue with file verification, drivers, mods, overlays, graphics load, and logs rather than repeatedly resetting settings.
