Change Your Steam Profile Name, Custom URL, or Account Sign-In Name

You can change the public profile name and custom URL, but the original Steam account name used to sign in cannot be changed.
Choose the identity field
Profile name is public and changeable; custom URL is optional; the account sign-in name is permanent.
Edit the profile
Open your Steam profile, choose Edit Profile, change General fields, and save.
Update the custom URL carefully
Changing the custom URL breaks links you shared and may release the old address.
Protect sign-in details
Do not expose the permanent account name publicly and never use third-party sites claiming they can rename or transfer a Steam account.
