Run Android 11 Apps and Games on Windows with BlueStacks 5

Answer
Install the latest BlueStacks 5, then open Multi-instance Manager > Instance > Fresh instance, choose Android 11, download the runtime, and start that instance. BlueStacks is a third-party emulator, not Windows Subsystem for Android, and not every Android app or game works in an emulator.
Check virtualization in Windows
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, select Performance > CPU, and find Virtualization. If it says Disabled, follow the PC maker’s firmware instructions because BIOS labels vary by manufacturer.
Install the latest BlueStacks 5
Download BlueStacks 5, run the installer, and select Install now or Update. Continue when the BlueStacks Home screen and its right-hand Side toolbar appear.
Open Multi-instance Manager
On the BlueStacks Home screen, click Multi-instance Manager in the right Side toolbar. In the separate manager window, click Instance, then Fresh instance.
Choose Android 11
In Choose an Android version, select Android 11 and click Next. If Android 11 is not listed, cancel, update BlueStacks 5, and check again.
Configure and download the instance
Choose CPU, memory, resolution, ABI, performance mode, DPI, and instance count without assigning resources Windows still needs, then click Download. Wait until the Android 11 instance appears in Multi-instance Manager.
Start Android 11
Click Start beside the Android 11 instance and wait for the Android Home screen. Search from Home or open the Store, and sign in only if the store or app requires it.
Verify the intended app or game
Install the intended app from a trusted store and launch it once. The task is complete when it opens inside the Android 11 instance, although individual features, controls, or purchases can still be incompatible.

If it does not work
- If Android 11 is missing from the version list, install the latest BlueStacks 5 before creating the instance.
- If the instance will not start or runs very slowly, confirm Task Manager shows Virtualization: Enabled and reduce its CPU or memory allocation so Windows retains enough resources.
- Current BlueStacks 5 supports Android 11 with Hyper-V enabled. Use BlueStacks’ current Hyper-V guidance instead of old HAXM or blanket disable-Hyper-V advice.
- If one app is absent from the Store or crashes while other apps work, check that app’s BlueStacks compatibility; do not sideload an APK from an unknown source.
- Do not follow an old Windows Subsystem for Android setup: Microsoft says WSA and the Amazon Appstore have not been available in the Microsoft Store since 5 March 2025.
