How to Show FPS, Ping, and Network Stats in Roblox

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

Join a Roblox experience, open the Roblox menu > Settings, and turn Performance Stats on. The overlay shows FPS, frame time, data, and ping, but it may not show a universal packet-loss percentage on every client.

Open a Roblox experience

Join the experience you want to measure and use Roblox's built-in Performance Stats. The official diagnostics expose frame rate, memory, CPU, GPU, data, and ping without an FPS-unlocker or overlay.

Enable Performance Stats

Open the Roblox menu, select Settings, and switch Performance Stats to On. On supported desktop clients, the Shift+F5 shortcut can cycle the statistics display.

Read FPS as frame rate

Watch the FPS or frame-time value while standing still and during the action that feels slow. A repeatable drop during the same scene suggests graphics or system load rather than network delay.

Read ping and data separately

Ping represents round-trip network delay; data sent and received show traffic, not packet-loss percentage. Roblox's standard overlay may not provide a universal packet-loss counter on every client.

Compare one controlled change

Open Settings, set Graphics Mode to Manual, lower Graphics Quality one level, and repeat the same scene. Pause downloads for a separate network comparison; do not change graphics and network conditions at once.

Check whether one experience is responsible

Test a second known-good experience. If only one performs poorly, its creator must inspect scripts, assets, server metrics, or the MicroProfiler; player-side registry edits cannot optimize the experience code.

Turn the overlay off

Return to Settings and switch Performance Stats Off when finished. Record the device, experience, approximate FPS, ping, and time if you report the issue to the creator or Roblox Support.

If it does not work

  • If a label differs, update the product and compare the current Roblox Creator Hub article before continuing. Do not guess at hidden files, account links, ports, security controls, or region restrictions.
  • If the supported workflow still fails, preserve the full error, timestamp, platform, account region, and completed steps for Roblox Creator Hub instead of repeating destructive resets.
