Switch or Remove an Additional Facebook Profile
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
Use Facebook's controls to switch or delete an additional profile. Keep the required main profile and verify the target before deletion.
Identify what you want to remove
Facebook can show saved logins for separate accounts and additional profiles created under one account. Removing a saved login only clears it from that browser or device; deleting an additional profile removes that profile's content after Facebook's stated process.
Remove a saved login without deleting the account
Log out to reach the Facebook login screen, open the options beside the saved account, and choose Remove account from device or Remove profile. The account remains active and can be added again by signing in with its credentials.
Open the profile switcher for an additional profile
Select your profile picture and choose See all profiles. Confirm which entry is the main profile and which is the additional profile. Facebook requires the main profile and it cannot be deleted independently while keeping only an additional profile.
Switch into the intended additional profile
Select the additional profile, confirm its name and image, and then open Settings & privacy > Settings. This reduces the risk of changing or deleting the wrong profile.
Choose deactivation or deletion deliberately
Open Accounts Center > Personal details > Account ownership and control > Deactivation or deletion, select the exact additional profile, and review the displayed consequences. Deactivation is temporary; deletion is intended to be permanent after the cancellation period.
Secure the remaining account
After removing a saved login or additional profile, verify that the main profile still signs in and that its email, phone, password, and two-factor authentication are current. Never remove another person's saved login unless you are authorized to manage the device.

If it does not work
- If the target reappears on the login screen, remove its saved login on each browser or device separately. If you cannot find deactivation or deletion, confirm whether it is a separate account or additional profile and verify you are acting as that exact profile.
