Fix PUBG Stuck on the Loading Screen

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

Note whether PUBG stops before the lobby, while entering a match, or while returning from a match. Check PUBG's Technical Issues page for maintenance or a matching loading problem, then restart Windows and Steam, remove old PUBG launch options, and verify the game files. Update Windows and the graphics driver before considering a clean reinstall.

Guide steps6 steps
  1. Identify the loading point
  2. Check PUBG's current notices
  3. Restart Steam and Windows
  4. Verify the installation
  5. Install current updates
  6. Keep evidence before reinstalling
  7. If it still does not work

Identify the loading point

Record whether the screen stops before the lobby, while joining a match, or while returning to the lobby. Keep any message and the approximate time because PUBG has separate help for crashes, connection failures, and after-match loading delays.

Check PUBG's current notices

Open PUBG's Technical Issues page and look for a matching loading or maintenance article. If a service update is in progress, wait for it to finish instead of deleting local files.

Restart Steam and Windows

Close PUBG and Steam completely, restart Windows, reopen Steam, and test once. Remove text from PUBG's Steam Launch Options if old custom commands are present.

Verify the installation

In Steam Library, right-click PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, choose Properties, open Installed Files, and select Verify integrity of game files. Wait until Steam finishes replacing missing or damaged files.

Install current updates

Install pending Windows, Steam, PUBG, and graphics-driver updates, then restart. Download the graphics driver only from NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, or the PC maker.

Keep evidence before reinstalling

If the same loading point still fails, use PUBG Support's crashing and performance guide and submit the time, loading point, error, DxDiag, and requested logs. A clean reinstall deletes local PUBG settings, so use it only after the safer checks.

If it does not work

  • If PUBG reaches the lobby on another trusted network, use the connectivity guide rather than reinstalling the game again.
  • If loading is delayed only after a match, use the specific loading-delay entry on PUBG's Technical Issues page and send only the files PUBG Support requests.
