Choose one of the water-frame PSD variants, replace the placeholder inside its portrait Smart Object, save that content document, and return to the main template. Check the face, water edge, and frame at 100% zoom, then keep a layered master and export a separate image.
Use the exact template shown in the video, or a compatible layered PSD that clearly identifies the editable Smart Object. Open the downloaded ZIP file with Extract All in Windows or by double-clicking it in macOS. Keep the PSD, instructions, font information, linked files, and preview images together. Make a copy of the extracted folder before editing.

Choose a water-frame variant
The recorded package contains three Photoshop files with different water-frame treatments. Preview them and open one PSD. Keep the other variants and the original file unchanged so you can compare the result later.

Find the portrait Smart Object
Open Window > Layers and locate the Smart Object identified by the template as the image or placeholder source. Select it and choose Layer > Smart Objects > Edit Contents, or double-click its thumbnail.
Add a portrait you are allowed to use and scale it proportionally. Position the face and shoulders inside the content canvas, keep important features away from the frame edge, hide the sample image, and confirm the placement.
Use File > Save in the Smart Object content tab, then return to the main PSD. Wait for the frame to update and confirm that the water treatment surrounds the new portrait rather than the sample.

Check the face and frame edge
Inspect the result at 100% zoom. Look for water covering the eyes or mouth, hard image edges, halos around hair, and empty areas inside the frame. Reposition the portrait or refine the template's labelled mask when needed.

Save a master file and export a copy
Save the layered Photoshop document under a new name so the original template stays available. Export a separate PNG when you need transparency or a JPEG for an opaque image. Open the exported file and check its size, cropping, spelling, colour, and image quality before using it.
If the wrong effect appears, return to the extracted folder and open a different water-frame PSD instead of combining layers from separate variants.
If the portrait does not update, confirm that you edited and saved the designated image Smart Object.
If water covers an important facial feature, reposition the portrait inside the Smart Object or adjust only the template's labelled frame mask.
