Open an ordinary Chrome page in its own window, add Sources > Window Capture in OBS, and select that exact Chrome window. Leave Capture Method on Automatic first; if the preview stays black, reopen the source properties and test BitBlt, which OBS documents as a less efficient fallback for some programs. On a multi-GPU laptop, keep OBS and Chrome on the GPU required for Window Capture. Protected video may remain black and should not be bypassed.
Close private tabs and account pages. Open an ordinary animated page in a separate Chrome window and keep that window visible while configuring OBS. This distinguishes a capture failure from protected video or a hidden target.

Create a fresh Window Capture source
In OBS, select the intended scene. Under Sources, select + > Window Capture, create a new source, and choose the exact Chrome window from Window. Leave Capture Method on Automatic and select OK.
If the preview remains black, double-click the Window Capture source and change Capture Method from Automatic to BitBlt. OBS notes that BitBlt is less efficient but can help with certain programs. Keep the method only if the ordinary page becomes visible.

Correct a multi-GPU assignment
On a laptop or multi-GPU PC, close OBS and open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics. Add C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe if needed, open Options, choose High performance for Window Capture, save, and reopen OBS.
Scroll or play a harmless animation, record 20 seconds, and open the file. Success means the Chrome content updates in both the OBS preview and recording without exposing other windows, tabs, notifications, or account details.
If it does not work
If the source goes blank after the Chrome title changes, reopen its properties and choose the current window; Window Match Priority can require the original title.
If only protected streaming video is black while an ordinary page records correctly, Window Capture is working. Do not bypass the content protection.
If neither Automatic nor BitBlt captures an ordinary page, preserve the working scene and submit an OBS log instead of disabling Chrome security or installing a capture plug-in.
