How to Install Minecraft Add-Ons on iPhone and iPad
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
Use Minecraft Marketplace Add-Ons for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, then activate the resource or behavior pack for a new or existing world. Java Edition mods and unofficial download-site packages are not the supported iPhone or iPad workflow.
Choose a supported Bedrock Add-On
Launch Minecraft and obtain the Add-On from Minecraft Marketplace while signed in to the gamertag that should own it. Minecraft describes Add-Ons as Marketplace content containing a resource pack, behavior pack, or both.
Start a new world
Select Play, then Create New World on the Worlds tab. On the Create from screen, choose Marketplace content or Create New World depending on the Add-On and world you intend to use.
Open the pack category
Open Resource Packs or Behavior Packs. Check the Add-On's Marketplace description when you are unsure which section it uses; some Add-Ons contain both types.
Activate the Add-On
On the Available tab, select the Add-On and choose Activate. Review any dependency or experimental-feature warning that Minecraft itself presents before continuing.
Create and test the world
Select Create, enter the world, and verify the expected blocks, items, mobs, recipes, or behavior. Test in a copy when the existing world matters because Add-Ons can change gameplay.
Add it to an existing world
From Play, tap the pencil icon for the world, open Resource Packs or Behavior Packs, choose the Add-On under Available, tap Activate, then select Play.
Manage Marketplace ownership
If the Add-On is missing, open Marketplace > My Library and confirm the displayed gamertag is the account used to obtain it before buying or downloading it again.

If it does not work
- Update Minecraft before diagnosing a missing or incompatible Add-On, and use Marketplace > My Library to redownload owned content.
- Minecraft recommends no more than three Add-Ons at once when performance or compatibility becomes a problem; deactivate packs one at a time in a test copy of the world.
