Fix “Multiplayer Is Disabled” in Minecraft
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
Close Minecraft, then have the Microsoft family organizer open Xbox privacy settings and select the affected child account. Allow Join multiplayer games and, when needed, Join cross-network play, submit the changes, then sign the child back into Minecraft. A child account cannot change these permissions itself.
If it does not work
- If the child is missing from the organizer's controls, add the correct Microsoft account to the family group before editing permissions.
- If only one server fails, the account-wide multiplayer permission is not the likely cause; use that server's exact error instead.
- A console's online-service subscription requirements are separate from Microsoft family privacy permissions.
- Do not falsify the birthdate, remove the child from the family, or create an adult replacement account to bypass parental controls.
