How to Install Roblox on Mac

Sign in at Roblox.com, open an experience, select the green Play button, then open Roblox.dmg and complete the installer. Select Play again and allow the browser to open Roblox.app. Success means the selected experience opens in Roblox Player, not in the browser tab.

Confirm the Mac is supported

Select Apple menu > About This Mac and confirm it runs macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later. Open Roblox.com in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.

Start from an experience page

Sign in at Roblox.com, open the experience you want to play, and select the green Play button. Roblox should prompt you to install Roblox Player.

Open Roblox.dmg

In Finder, open Downloads or Recents and double-click Roblox.dmg. Follow the installer prompts until Roblox appears in the Applications folder.

Open the roblox-player link

Return to the same experience and select Play again. Allow the browser to open Roblox.app. If Firefox asks you to choose an application, select Always use this application, choose Roblox.app from Applications, and select Open Link.

Verify the installation

Confirm Roblox Player opens and the chosen experience loads. The Roblox icon should also appear in Applications; a browser tab by itself is not the game client.

If it does not work

  • If Firefox cannot find Roblox.app, press Command-Shift-G in its chooser, enter /Applications/Roblox.app/Contents/MacOS/Roblox.app, select Roblox.app, and choose Open Link.
  • If Roblox shows Upgrade Failed, return to the experience page in the browser and select Play so Roblox can install the current player.
  • If Roblox.dmg opens but Roblox never appears in Applications, close Roblox, restart the Mac, and repeat the official installer before deleting any Library files.
