Open Instagram’s activity-status setting and switch off Show Activity Status. This also prevents you from seeing when accounts you follow or message are active.
Open activity settings
In Instagram, open the account settings for messages and story replies.
Turn off Show Activity Status
Open Show Activity Status and turn its switch off.
Confirm the trade-off
After switching it off, you also cannot see other accounts’ current or recent activity status.
Verify the result
Open Instagram from a second trusted account and verify the active account no longer exposes its current activity status or recent activity timestamp where the feature applies.
