How to Enable Roblox Avatar Face Tracking with Your Camera

Join a camera-enabled experience with an avatar head that supports facial animation, allow Roblox camera access, then turn on the camera control in the experience. The feature is optional, is not supported by every experience or device, and can be turned off at any time.
Confirm the experience supports Camera
Open the experience details and review the Communication field in its About section. Roblox says Camera must be listed; a Microphone-only experience supports voice but not full camera-driven facial animation.
Check the device requirement
Use a supported camera device. Roblox says the feature is unavailable on Android devices with 3 GB of RAM or less, so switching permissions cannot enable it on that hardware.
Equip a supported avatar head
Open Avatar customization, choose Heads and Body, and use a head whose thumbnail has the facial-animation icon. Not every avatar head supports the feature.
Join the camera-enabled experience
Start the experience from the official Roblox app. Camera and microphone inputs begin off, so joining alone does not start facial animation.
Allow camera access
When the operating system asks, allow Roblox to use the camera. If access was previously denied, open the device's application privacy settings and enable camera permission for Roblox.
Turn on the in-experience camera
Use the camera control shown above the avatar or in Roblox's in-experience controls. If several cameras are attached, open the Roblox menu, select Settings, and choose the intended Video Camera.
Review Self View
Open the in-experience menu and select Self View to see how the avatar responds. Self View can be repositioned, resized, or closed and is not required for the animation to keep working.
Turn the feature off
Open the Roblox menu and disable the Camera control when finished. You can also remove Roblox camera permission in the operating system for a stronger device-level block.

- If Camera is missing, verify all three requirements: a camera-enabled experience, supported device, and facial-animation-compatible head.
- Camera facial animation and voice chat are separate. Do not grant microphone access merely to troubleshoot a camera-only task.
