Use Steam's Performance Overlay or Xbox Game Bar's Performance widget; do not edit game files. Turn on one counter, launch Dying Light 2, and measure the same safe scene for at least 30 seconds. FPS measures rendering speed, not internet delay.

Close the game

Exit Dying Light 2 before changing an overlay setting.

Enable Steam's counter

In Steam, open Settings > In Game and choose a Performance Overlay level and position. Single FPS Value is enough for a simple reading.

Or use Xbox Game Bar

Press Windows + G, open Performance, select FPS, and pin the widget. Use this instead of Steam if you need CPU, GPU, and RAM too.

Choose a safe test scene

Load the same indoor area or quiet open-world location. Do not compare a cutscene with combat.

Measure for 30 seconds

Keep resolution, display mode, and camera view unchanged. Write down typical FPS and noticeable drops.

Change one setting

Adjust one graphics option, return to the same scene, and repeat the measurement.

Turn off the overlay

Disable or unpin the counter after testing so it does not cover controls or use resources.

If it does not work

If Steam's counter is missing, ensure the Steam overlay is enabled for Dying Light 2 and restart both.
If Game Bar needs FPS permission, follow its prompt and restart Windows once.
If FPS is stable but players teleport or actions delay, check Techland status and the network instead of lowering graphics.
