Download an Available Pinterest Video Pin
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
Open the video Pin in the Pinterest app and use Download only when Pinterest shows that option. Creator settings and Pin format can prevent downloads.
Confirm you may save and reuse the video
Open the Pin and check its creator, description, and destination. A download option does not transfer copyright or grant permission to repost, edit, or use the video commercially; keep the original creator's terms in mind.
Open the Pin in the Pinterest app
Use the current Pinterest app on iPhone or Android and tap the video Pin to open its close-up view. Let the video load completely so the available actions reflect that Pin's format and the creator's settings.
Look for Pinterest's Download option
Open the Pin options menu and choose Download video only when Pinterest displays it. The option is not available for every full-screen video Pin, and some formats or creator settings prevent downloads.
Allow photo-library access if prompted
Grant Pinterest limited or full photo access only as needed to save the file. If you previously denied access, use the phone's app-permission settings to allow Photos or media access, then retry the download.
Verify the saved video
Open Photos, Gallery, or Google Photos and play the saved file through to the end. Pinterest may add the creator's username as a watermark. If no file appears, check app permissions and available storage before trying again.
Avoid third-party downloader sites
If Pinterest does not provide Download video, use the Pin's Save feature to keep it on a Pinterest board or ask the creator for the original. Do not paste private Pin links into unknown downloader services.

If it does not work
- If Download video is missing, the Pin or creator does not currently allow Pinterest's direct download route. If the download completes but no video appears, verify Photos or media permission and free storage; use Save to board instead of an unverified downloader.
