Fix being unable to add friends in COD Mobile

Source-checked About 5 minutes

Answer

Use the in-game Friends list and search for the player's exact public name. Do not share or enter a PlayerID, UID or PrivacyID as a friend code. If the public name is not found, update both copies of COD Mobile and use the app's support option.

Verify the account, ownership, and permission scope

Confirm the official account, intended profile, server or post, current app version, ownership and required role before changing identity, privacy or access. Preserve two-factor authentication and recovery access. Never share passwords, verification codes, backup codes, account tokens, player privacy IDs, cookies or identity documents with a third-party troubleshooting tool or supposed support contact.

Open Friends

Open COD Mobile and select the Friends control from the home screen.

Search the public name

Open Add Friends and enter the player's exact public in-game name, including its capitalization and symbols.

Send the request

Open the matching profile and send the friend request. The other player must accept it before appearing in your Friend List.

Update both apps

If the profile is not found, have both players install the current COD Mobile update and try the public name again.

Verify the intended result before broader recovery

Repeat the exact task described by “Fix being unable to add friends in COD Mobile” with a harmless test and confirm the account, device, app, game, project or setting now matches the Answer. Recheck it after one fresh session or supported restart where appropriate, and keep original data and the recorded starting state until the result is stable. If only one component still differs, keep further recovery limited to that component.

If it does not work

  • If a friend cannot be added, verify both exact player names or UIDs, region or game version, privacy and block state, and Activision service status. Never share PlayerID, UID, PrivacyID, password or verification code with a recovery service, and do not create a replacement account before protecting existing progress.
