How to Fix Can't Add Friends in COD Mobile

Source-checked About 5 minutes

Answer

Open Friends > Add Friends and search the player's exact, case-sensitive COD Mobile username. Send the request from the matching profile, then have the other player accept it under Requests. If search fails, check spelling and capitalization, try Recent Teammates, and verify neither player is blocked or at the 100-friend limit.

Guide steps6 steps
  1. Copy the exact public username
  2. Open Add Friends
  3. Search and send the request
  4. Accept the incoming request
  5. Try Recent Teammates when search fails
  6. Clear list and account conflicts
  7. If it still does not work

Copy the exact public username

Ask the other player to open their COD Mobile profile and copy the displayed public username exactly, including capitalization, spaces, symbols, and any numbers. Do not use a PlayerID, UID, PrivacyID, password, or verification code.

Open Add Friends

From the lobby, tap the two-person Friends icon near the upper-right corner, then open Add Friends.

Search and send the request

Enter the exact case-sensitive username, run the search, and compare the returned name and avatar. Tap the add-friend control on the correct profile once.

Accept the incoming request

On the other device, open Friends > Requests and accept the pending invitation. The task is complete when both players appear in each other's Friends list and can send a lobby invitation.

Try Recent Teammates when search fails

If you recently completed a match together, open Friends > Recent Teammates, locate the player, and send the request there. This avoids mistakes with uncommon symbols in a username.

Clear list and account conflicts

If the request still cannot be sent or accepted, confirm both players use the current app version, remove an old friend if either list has reached 100, and check both blocked-player lists. Then repeat one request rather than sending several.

If it does not work

  • If search returns no player, re-copy the public username and preserve its exact capitalization and symbols; do not substitute PlayerID, UID, or PrivacyID.
  • If the request was sent but the player does not appear, have the recipient check Friends > Requests and confirm neither account blocked the other.
  • If the add control is unavailable, reduce a full 100-player Friends list and make sure both devices have the same current COD Mobile version.

Activision's current help and competitive-play instructions use the public username, note that it is case-sensitive, and place incoming requests under Friends > Requests.
