How to Recover a Guest Account in COD Mobile

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

A COD Mobile guest account can be reopened only while its local data still exists on the original device: log out of the wrong account, choose Guest, and confirm the old profile loads. Then link that profile immediately. If the device changed or the app data was erased, Activision says unlinked guest progress cannot be recovered.

Guide steps7 steps
  1. Identify which account state you have
  2. Log out of the wrong profile
  3. Open the local guest profile
  4. Link the recovered guest progress
  5. Verify the linked sign-in
  6. Use the linked-account path when applicable
  7. Stop when the local guest data is gone
  8. If it still does not work

Identify which account state you have

Use the original device and do not uninstall COD Mobile or clear its storage. If the old guest profile was never linked and that local data is already gone, skip to the final step because the in-app login choices cannot recreate it.

Log out of the wrong profile

If COD Mobile opens a different account, tap the Settings gear, open Legal and Privacy, tap Logout, and confirm. The app should return to its sign-in choices.

Open the local guest profile

Choose Guest on the original device. Allow the game to load fully, then check the displayed player name, level, loadouts, and inventory. Continue only if they match the missing profile.

Link the recovered guest progress

Open Settings and tap Link or the yellow plus control, then choose an account type and complete its official sign-in. Use an account that is not already tied to different COD Mobile progress; Activision does not merge or transfer progress between linked accounts.

Verify the linked sign-in

After the link succeeds, note the public player name, log out once, and sign back in with the newly linked method. The task is complete when the same level, inventory, and loadouts return without selecting Guest.

Use the linked-account path when applicable

If the profile had already been linked to Activision, Facebook, Apple, or another offered provider, sign in with that same provider instead of Guest and recover access through that provider's official account-recovery page if necessary.

Stop when the local guest data is gone

If the original device was replaced, COD Mobile was removed, or its app data was cleared before the guest profile was linked, Activision says that guest progress cannot be recovered. A new Guest login creates local progress; it does not restore the old profile.

If it does not work

  • If Guest opens a new level-one profile, do not link it over another account. Recheck that this is the original device and that COD Mobile storage was not cleared.
  • If linking says the account is already associated, sign out and test that linked account separately; COD Mobile does not merge two existing profiles.
  • If the old profile was linked but the provider sign-in fails, recover that provider account first. Guest mode cannot bypass a lost Activision, Facebook, Apple, or other linked login.

Activision distinguishes local guest data from linked accounts: existing local progress can be linked, but guest progress lost with a device or app-data change cannot be restored.
