How to Enable Prone Button in COD Mobile

Source-checked About 10 minutes

Answer

Open Settings > Basic for the mode you play and turn off Hide Prone Button (Hold Crouch to Prone). Then open Controls > Custom Layout for that same mode, place the separate prone button, and save the layout. Verify it in Practice: one tap should make the character go prone without holding crouch.

Guide steps6 steps
  1. Choose the game mode
  2. Open Basic settings
  3. Show the separate button
  4. Place it in Custom Layout
  5. Save and test the result
  6. Repeat only for another mode
  7. If it still does not work

Choose the game mode

Decide whether you need the button in Multiplayer, Battle Royale, or another supported mode. COD Mobile can store different Basic and Controls settings for each mode, so change and test the same one.

Open Basic settings

From the lobby, tap the gear icon, open Basic, and select the intended mode if mode tabs are shown. Use the settings search for prone if the list is long.

Show the separate button

Find Hide Prone Button (Hold Crouch to Prone) and turn it off. This separates prone from the press-and-hold crouch action for that mode.

Place it in Custom Layout

Open Controls, choose the same mode, and tap Custom Layout. Select the prone icon, move it to a reachable position, and set its scale and opacity without overlapping fire, crouch, jump, or aim controls.

Save and test the result

Save and use the layout, then open Practice for that mode. The change is successful when the separate prone icon is visible and one tap moves the standing or crouched character fully prone.

Repeat only for another mode

If you also want the button in Battle Royale or Multiplayer, return to Basic and Controls, select that other mode, and repeat the same two changes. Do not assume one mode's HUD automatically replaces another.

If it does not work

  • If the character goes prone only after holding crouch, Hide Prone Button is still enabled for the mode being tested.
  • If the button exists in Custom Layout but not in a match, verify that you edited and saved the layout for that exact mode.
  • If the prone icon overlaps another control, return to Custom Layout, move or resize it, save, and repeat the Practice test.
