How to Change Your Roblox Username on Mobile
Source-checked About 10 minutes
Answer
In the Roblox mobile app, tap More > Settings > Account Info, tap the pencil beside Username, enter the new username and current password, then review the Robux price and tap Buy. Every username change requires Robux, including changing back; names must be 3–20 letters or numbers with at most one underscore that is not first or last, cannot belong to another account, and remain subject to Roblox filtering.
Check the signed-in Roblox account
Open the official Roblox mobile app, tap More (the three-dot icon), and confirm the username shown belongs to the intended account. Do not continue if a sibling’s, child’s, or alternate account is open.
Open the username setting
From More, tap the gear icon for Settings, then tap Account Info. Find Username and tap its Change Username pencil icon; a form for the new username and current password should appear.
Enter a username that meets Roblox’s limits
Enter a 3–20 character name using letters and numbers plus no more than one underscore, not at the beginning or end. Avoid personal information and inappropriate text, and remember that a name owned by another account cannot be used or swapped from an alternate account.
Review the Robux charge before buying
Enter the account’s current Roblox password and inspect the Robux price shown beside Buy. Roblox requires Robux for every username change and offers no capitalization-only discount, so leave the screen if the displayed name or price is wrong.
Buy the username change
Tap Buy once and wait for Roblox to return to Account Info. Confirm the Username field now shows the new name before closing Settings; do not repeat the purchase because a page is slow to refresh.
Verify the new sign-in name
Sign out of Roblox, then sign in with the new username and the same current password. Open Profile and confirm the new username is attached to the original account; Roblox notes that previous usernames remain visible to other users.

If it does not work
- If Change Username is missing, confirm you opened Settings > Account Info on the intended account and compare the app with Roblox’s current support article before purchasing Robux.
- If Roblox rejects the name, check its 3–20 character format, underscore position, filtering, and whether another account already owns it; an alternate account cannot transfer it.
- If the goal is only to change the name other players see, use the free Display Name setting instead. Display names are separate from usernames and can change only once every seven days.
- If Buy is unavailable, do not use an outside username seller. Check the Robux price shown by Roblox and add Robux only through an official Roblox purchase flow if you still want the change.
