How to Change Your Roblox Username on Mobile

Choose Username or Display Name

Open the official Roblox app, tap More (the three dots), open Settings, and select Account Info. Confirm the Username shown belongs to the intended account. A Username is its unique sign-in identifier; a Display Name is the free name other players usually see. If only the visible name needs to change, tap the pencil beside Display Name and stop here.

Open Change Username

On the same Account Info screen, tap the pencil beside Username. The Change Username screen should ask for a new username and the account’s current password.

Enter the intended username

Type the new name exactly as it should appear, then enter the current Roblox password. The name must have 3–20 letters or numbers, may contain one underscore that is not first or last, and must not reveal personal information. If Roblox rejects it or another account owns it, choose another name instead of continuing.

Stop and review the purchase

Before tapping Buy, re-read the new username, confirm the intended account is open, and inspect the current Robux price Roblox displays. Changing back or changing only capitalization also costs Robux, and previous usernames remain visible in Settings, profiles, and People search. Leave without buying if any name, account, or price detail is wrong.

Buy once and verify in Account Info

Tap Buy once and wait for Roblox to return to Account Info. Success means the Username field shows the new name on the same account. Do not sign out just to test it; the next time sign-in is required, use the new username with the existing password.

If it does not work

  • If Change Username is missing, confirm you opened More > Settings > Account Info on the intended account. Do not purchase Robux until Roblox shows the Change Username form and Buy review.
  • If Roblox rejects the name, check its 3–20 character format, underscore position, filtering, and whether another account already owns it; an alternate account cannot transfer it.
  • If the goal is only to change the name other players see, use the free Display Name setting instead. Display names are separate from usernames and can change only once every seven days.
  • If Buy is unavailable, do not use an outside username or Robux seller. Check the current price Roblox shows and add Robux only through an official Roblox purchase flow if the intended account owner still wants the change.
  • If Buy was tapped but Account Info still shows the old name, wait for the purchase result, close the form, and reopen Account Info before trying anything again. Do not tap Buy repeatedly while the screen is loading.
