Facebook expects the name used in everyday life and applies name standards. Review spelling and order first, and avoid titles, symbols, unusual capitalization, phrases, or impersonation. Open Accounts Center
In Facebook, open Settings and privacy > Settings, then Accounts Center. Interface placement can differ between the mobile app and desktop site, but use the Accounts Center connected to the profile you want to edit. If several Meta accounts are linked, verify the selected Facebook profile before continuing.

Open the profile name setting
Choose Profiles, select the correct account, then choose Name. Enter the first, middle, and last name fields that apply. Do not include private information that does not belong in a public profile name, and do not confuse the profile name with a username or Page name, which use different controls.

Review and submit the change
Select Review change, check how Facebook will display the name, enter the requested account credential, and save. Reopen the profile after submission to see whether it changed immediately or is awaiting review. Keep any request for identity confirmation inside Facebook's own app or facebook.com.
If the control is missing or Facebook rejects the name, check the exact notice, the 60-day limit, the name standards, and whether Facebook previously asked you to confirm your name. Do not create another account or repeatedly submit variations. Follow Facebook's review or identity-confirmation path for the affected profile.
