Lower the overall quality first

Show fewer characters in crowded areas
Use the performance option that hides or simplifies other adventurers and distant non-player characters when towns or world bosses are the main problem. Turn it back up if the missing characters make group play confusing.

Compare Full Screen and Borderless
Test Full Screen against the current Borderless or Windowed mode with the same resolution. Keep the mode that produces steadier performance and still works with the way you switch between the game and other apps.

Update, restart, and use current support
Install the recommended graphics driver, restart Windows, and close heavy background apps. If an option in this guide has moved or performance changed after a patch, use Pearl Abyss Support for the current menu or known issue instead of applying an old CPU-affinity or BIOS tweak.
