Add the person in Steam, then play Counter-Strike 2 together. In Steam, search for their community profile, share an invite link, or use their friend code; the other person must accept the pending invite. Limited Steam accounts can receive but cannot send friend invites.
Launch Steam and sign in to the account you use for Counter-Strike 2. Use Steam's friends tools rather than trusting a profile link sent by an unknown person.

Open friend management
Open the Friends menu and choose the friends-management or add-friend option available in the current client. Check the account name carefully before sending a request.

Search a profile
Search the Steam Community for your friend's profile, or navigate to the profile they give you directly. Select Add Friend only after confirming that the profile is the right person.

Use an invite link or code
Alternatively, create and share a Steam invite link or enter the friend's code in Steam's friend-management screen. Treat codes and links as invitations, not as proof of a person's identity.

Wait for acceptance
Ask the other person to open their pending friend invite and accept it. The request does not add them until they accept it on their account.

Start CS2 together
After the Steam friendship is active, open Counter-Strike 2 and use its party or invite controls. The exact matchmaking options can vary by mode and current game update.
