1. Introduction

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Palette Studio, a macOS application published by techy.how.

By downloading, installing, or using Palette Studio, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the app.

3. What Palette Studio provides

Palette Studio is a native macOS color palette generator for designers, developers, and creatives.

The app allows you to:

  • Generate color palettes using color harmony rules

  • Adjust colors using HSL controls

  • Extract colors from images

  • Create gradients

  • Validate palette harmony

  • Export palettes and gradients in professional formats

  • Save and manage a local palette library

All core functionality works offline, and all data is stored locally on your Mac.

4. Free and Pro features

Free version

Palette Studio is free to download and includes core palette generation, color adjustment, and basic export features.

Pro subscription

An optional annual subscription unlocks professional features such as:

  • Photo color extraction

  • Gradient generator

  • Harmony validation tools

  • Trend-based palettes

  • Advanced export formats

  • Palette library and history

Pricing, trials, and availability are shown in the App Store and may vary by region.

5. Subscriptions & payments

  • Subscriptions are handled exclusively by Apple via the App Store

  • Payment, billing, renewals, and cancellations are managed through your Apple ID

  • We do not process payments or store billing information

Any free trial, renewal, or cancellation terms are governed by Apple’s App Store policies.

6. License and usage rights

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Palette Studio on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Terms. You may use the app for personal or commercial design work.

7. Ownership & intellectual property

  • Palette Studio, including its code, design, UI, and branding, is owned by techy.how

  • All intellectual property rights remain with us

You own the palettes, gradients, and exports you create using the app.

8. User content & exports

Any content you create using Palette Studio (such as color palettes or exported files):

  • Belongs to you

  • Is stored locally on your device

  • Is never uploaded to us

You are responsible for how you use exported content, including ensuring it does not infringe third-party rights.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code

  • Modify or redistribute the app outside of Apple’s App Store

  • Use the app for unlawful purposes

  • Circumvent subscription or licensing mechanisms

10. No warranties

Palette Studio is provided “as is” and “as available”.

While we aim for a stable, high-quality experience, we do not guarantee that:

  • The app will be error-free

  • All features will meet your specific needs

  • The app will be uninterrupted or bug-free

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • techy.how shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • We are not responsible for loss of data, design work, or exports resulting from device failure, user actions, or third-party software

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by law.

12. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us.

Palette Studio does not collect personal data, does not use tracking, and does not require accounts.

13. Termination

You may stop using Palette Studio at any time by uninstalling the app.

We may terminate or restrict access to the app if required by law or if these Terms are violated.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect:

  • App changes

  • Legal or regulatory requirements

When updates are made, the Effective date above will be revised.
Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
