What the app does

Palette Studio is a native macOS color palette generator designed for designers, developers, and creatives. It allows you to generate, adjust, validate, and export color palettes using professional color theory tools.

You can, among other things:

  • Generate palettes using harmony rules (complementary, analogous, triadic, etc.)

  • Adjust colors using HSL controls

  • Extract colors from images

  • Create gradients

  • Validate palette harmony

  • Export palettes in professional formats (PNG, CSS, Swift, JSON, Figma-ready formats, etc.)

  • Save and manage a local palette library

All functionality is designed to work offline.
All data remains on your Mac unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Data we collect from the app

We do not collect personal data.

Palette Studio does not collect, transmit, or store personal information about you.

On-device only

All data you create or use in Palette Studio is stored locally on your Mac, including:

  • Generated palettes

  • Palette history and library

  • Tags and favorites

  • Imported images for color extraction

  • User preferences and settings

  • Subscription status (validated locally via Apple)

Palette Studio does not upload this information to any server.

No servers

Palette Studio does not operate any backend servers for user data.

  • No user data is sent to us

  • No user data is sent to third parties

  • No cloud processing is used for palettes, images, or exports

Any optional internet access (such as checking for app updates or downloading curated trend palettes) does not transmit personal data.

Image handling (Photo Color Extraction)

If you choose to import an image (JPG, PNG, HEIC) to extract colors:

  • The image is processed entirely on-device

  • The image is not uploaded

  • The image is not shared

  • The image is not retained unless you keep it locally yourself

Sharing & exports

When you export palettes or gradients (e.g., as PNG, CSS, JSON, or other formats):

  • The export is generated locally on your Mac

  • macOS uses the system share sheet or file dialog

  • You choose where the file goes

We do not receive exported files or clipboard contents.

Accounts, tracking, and analytics

Palette Studio does not include:

  • User accounts or logins

  • Cloud syncing

  • Third-party SDKs

  • Analytics or telemetry

  • Tracking technologies

  • Advertising

  • Profiling or user identifiers

Diagnostics & crash reports

If you have enabled “Share Analytics with Developers” in macOS system settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated and anonymized crash or diagnostic reports.

These reports:

  • Do not directly identify you

  • Do not contain palette data, images, or exports

  • Are provided by Apple under their developer program

Participation is entirely controlled by your macOS settings.

Payments & subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit.

  • We do not receive your payment information

  • We do not see your name, email address, or billing details

Apple may provide us with aggregated sales reports, which do not contain personal data.

When you contact us

If you contact us by email (for example, at contact@techy.how):

  • We process the information you provide (such as your email address and message) solely to respond

  • We keep messages only as long as necessary to handle your request

Your rights (EU / EEA – GDPR)

If you contact us and provide personal data (for example via email), you have the right to request:

  • Access

  • Correction

  • Deletion

  • Restriction of processing

  • Data portability

  • Objection to processing

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
In Luxembourg, this is the CNPD (Commission nationale pour la protection des données).

Children’s privacy

Palette Studio:

  • Has no accounts

  • Has no social features

  • Has no user-generated public content

  • Has no ads

It does not knowingly collect personal data from children and is suitable for general audiences.

Security

Palette Studio is designed to minimize data exposure by:

  • Working offline

  • Storing all data locally on your device

  • Avoiding servers, tracking, and cloud storage

If you contact us by email, we take reasonable steps to protect those communications.

International transfers

Palette Studio does not transfer app data internationally.

  • App data stays on your device

  • No cloud processing is used

Emails you send to us may be processed by our email provider to deliver the message.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements.

When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top of this page.
